The 2024 International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI) conference was an unforgettable event filled with incredible moments, celebrations, and valuable connections. Here are some of the highlights from this exciting conference:
- Celebrating Emerging Leaders: Emily Kwatinetz was honored as one of the 2024 IPMI Emerging Leaders of the Year, a well-deserved recognition for her contributions to the parking and mobility industry.
- First-Timers Presenting: Ben Verdugo, Chisa Nagai, and Alexis Appel attended their first IPMI conference and presented the session, "Waiving Parking Minimums Goodbye," sparking a meaningful conversation on the future of parking policies.
- Dunk Tank Fun: A fun and charitable moment came when one of our team members got dunked to help Duncan Solutions raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Ohio—a memorable experience for a good cause!
- CAPP Celebration: The team celebrated as several colleagues achieved their Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP) status. Special shout-outs to Leo Pelle, CAPP, Dulce Gomez, CAPP, SHRM-CP, and Donna King, CAPP, for their outstanding accomplishments.
- Shout-Out from Adrienne Tucker: The amazing Adrienne Tucker, CAPP, gave a special shout-out to one of our team members as she received her well-earned IPMI award, making for a heartwarming moment.
- Meeting OSU Brutus: Another fun moment was when our team had the chance to meet OSU Brutus, adding a lighthearted touch to the event.
- Karaoke and Butter Cake: The karaoke was a blast, and everyone enjoyed the delicious butter cake, graciously provided by IPS Group, Inc.
- Epic Flash Bash: The Flash Bash, organized by Brandy Stanley, MBA, CAPP, was an epic event that capped off a fantastic night of networking and fun.
- New Nickname: One of our team members proudly added a new nickname to their repertoire—Orange Hat Lady—after sporting an orange hat that became a fun conversation starter.
- Matching with Cindy Campbell: A fun moment during the conference involved color-matching a team member's hat to the iconic jacket worn by Cindy Campbell, leaving a memorable impression.
The most significant takeaway from the conference was the chance to experience the event alongside such a dynamic group of colleagues. The collaboration, camaraderie, and shared moments make the parking and mobility industry truly unique, and the team is already excited for next year. We’re preparing our abstracts and looking forward to more opportunities to connect and collaborate in the future.
